Riders,

We had a very good turnout at our August meeting, if you missed the meeting you may not have heard, we are heading to Cookeville TN on October 3,4 & 5 for the Fall trip this year. A few choices were suggested as to where we might want to go for this trip and the vote at the meeting was close, but Cookeville won out. I will work on getting the hotel picked out and maybe a few events or places to see in the area for those that do not wish to make the Saturday ride over to the Devils Triangle. I will be looking for ride leaders for this weekend, if anyone is interested, please let me know if you would like to lead part or all of the rides.

The Club picnic is coming up Sunday August 24th and it will be held at Greg & Susan Bass’s home this year. He said that he will have tables and chairs setup, but if you can and want to bring a folding chair you can. We will have BBQ as the meat supplied by the club this year, the club will also provide some drinks and all the paper products as usual. If you could bring some kind of side dish, snack, dessert, appetizer, or other items to share.

A map to the event is posted on the club calendar and we will try to get the RRMC signs out and posted along the way from downtown Anderson AL to Greg’s home. I plan to lead a ride starting in Huntsville from the Shoneys on University next to North Memorial Parkway with kickstands up at 10:00 AM. Get there before 10:00 if you want to eat at Shoneys before the ride. I hope to have the ride arrive in Athens by 1:00 PM, where we can meet at the Racetrac gas station on US 72 (near I 65), for anyone who might like to join us for the last leg of the ride to Greg’s. We will try to arrive at Greg’s by 2:00 PM.

Also remember that the September meeting is coming up soon and we will be having nomination of officers for the Redstone Riders Motorcycle Club. We will need people to come forward and help fill the officers position within the club. I do not plan on continuing as president of the club in the upcoming year. Please feel free to volunteer to help this club move forward over the next year.

The weather is getting better for riding again and I hope we see more of you out on the roads with us again soon.
